I am Shigeo Kagami, the second president of Kaisei Professional University.
I feel humbled as I take on my new responsibilities. Kaisei Professional University was established in 2020 with the aim of cultivating talent that can contribute to society through practical education, in response to changes in the times. Under the leadership of the first president, Professor Takao Kitahata, we were able to send graduates out into society from all faculties, including the Faculty of Business Creation, Faculty of Information Science, and Faculty of Anime and Manga. The career paths of our graduates were excellent, and in addition to recording an extremely high actual employment rate, many of them found employment at listed companies, leading local companies, and emerging companies. In particular, it is noteworthy that they achieved great results in an environment where there were no seniors at the employment destination and the accepting companies' evaluation of our university was undecided. This is, of course, the result of the efforts of the students, but I believe that the friendly guidance of our faculty and staff also supported these results.

The reason why our university has had such a great impact on society in the five years since its founding is due to the spirit of our founding and the innovativeness of our educational methods. Due to the accelerating progress of technological innovation, as seen in the evolution of generative AI, the great waves of globalization, and the increasing complexity of social issues that need to be solved, we have entered an era in which traditional academic systems and educational frameworks are no longer sufficient to cope with these challenges.

In the midst of these changes, our university has made it its mission to produce human resources who can immediately contribute in the real world by highlighting the characteristics of "education by practitioner faculty," "collaboration with companies and local governments," and "problem-solving-based learning." To this end, our university has strengthened ties with the industrial sector, and actively incorporates joint projects with companies and local governments, long-term in-company training, and PBL (Project-Based Learning). In addition, in order to foster flexible thinking that can respond to the changes of the times, we also focus on digital technology and innovation education.

As president, I intend to further promote the ideals of our university and work hard to further improve the quality of education. I will strive to enrich the curriculum, improve the educational environment, and strengthen industry-government-academia collaboration, providing a place where each student can learn and grow independently.

I sincerely hope that your studies at our university will be an invaluable experience for your life. I look forward to working with you to shape the professional university of the new era.
